At Balwyn Pool Fence Inspections, we’re here to keep your family safe by the pool! With the lovely hot summers in Melbourne, we want to keep your pool compliant to ensure you can enjoy it as much as possible.
In Victoria, pool and spa owners are required to go through a pool fence inspection process to ensure their pool is compliant with the latest Victorian regulations.
In order for your pool to be considered safe, you must have permanent pool fencing around the pool.
We can inspect all types of pools including in-ground pools, above-ground pools, indoor pools, spas, spa pools, and even portable pools.
During the Pool Inspection, we will check:
- Your pool fence & gates
- Location of pool fence
- Vertical gaps in the pool fence
- Gaps at the bottom of the pool fence
- Height of the pool fence
- Ensuring gates are self-closing and latching
What happens after the pool inspection?
After inspecting your pool and spa fences against our expertise in pool compliance, we will provide you with a report based on our findings. Our reporting is unbiased and tailored specifically for your pool and spa.
As we have seen all sorts of safety issues, we’re able to make excellent recommendations on how to rectify any issues that pop up as soon as possible. Tom also has connections with local businesses to ensure you can quickly (and reasonably) get your pool compliant.
Does my pool need inspecting?
This depends on when your last pool inspection was, and when it was built.
If your pool or spa was completed:
• If your pool was built On or before 30th June 1994 the compliance certificate must be lodged by 1st June 2022.
• If your pool was built Between 1st June 1994 until 30th April 2010 the compliance certificate must be lodged by 1st June 2023.
• If your pool was built Between 1st May 2010 until 31st October 2020 the compliance certificate must be lodged by 1st June 2024.
• If your pool was built On or after 1st November 2020 the compliance certificate must be lodged within 30 days of an occupancy permit or certificate of final inspection
